Some Old Wives Tales Do Work!

Great Grandma did come up with some good ideas. Not all Wives’s tales are phony. Here are some that have been known to work:

My youngest son had very sensitive skin for most of his child hood. I had to wash is clothes in Dreft baby detergent until he was nine years old, because the laundry soap was too harsh. Then Arm & Hammer came out with no perfume soap. This worked great.

I could not use disposable diapers on him. He would break out in a rash all over his mid-drift and bottom. I had to use cloth diapers. Dye Dee service was a blessing for a year or so.

When he was a baby and would get diaper rash, I tried Desitin and many other diaper rash lotion, but nothing cleared him up. Then one day I tried cornstarch (Helpful hint from Great Grandma), his bottom cleared right up and I never had a problem again. I took an old baby powder bottle and put cornstarch in it instead.

Also on my other children and Granddaughter now, I use what is called Bag Balm for diaper rashes. This works great. It will clear up a bottom in no time flat.

There is nothing more nerve racking than a teething baby. You feel sorry for them because you know they are hurting. Baby or-gel never worked for my children. I used to rub a dab of Whiskey on their gums and it would soothe them. I use it on my new grandbaby. I have found if you keep the bottle in the freezer, they like it better. Use as needed.

When a baby or toddler has a cold, stuffed up nose or a runny nose, if you rub Vicks on their feet it helps them sleep and breathe better. Rubbing it on their little chest is too harsh.

Each child is different so these may not work for yours. Keep in mind if you do have this similar problem, give some of these tales a try. What do you have to loose?

The Importance of a Special Blanket!!!!

Look at this soft blue blanket. This would be a perfect gift for the special little boy arriving in your life. This is bright and has a cute little bear on the corner. It comes in two sizes, 18" x 18" for the traveler and 28" x 34" for the stay at home guy.

Growing up happens so fast if your little guy had one of these blankets to have close by, he would not be scared. This little soft blanket would comfort him through the diaper rashes, teething, babysitters or a overnight to Grandma's house.

This little blanket would grow with him. As the blanket's color fades, your little guy grows more independent. This is a part of him he can always keep. This little blanket will grow memories has your little boy grows up. The stories you can tell him about how this little baby blanket went though trying times with him as a child. He can pass this down to his children and their children. It is hard to believe this soft little bright blue blanket will travel in time.
